First produced on 6th April 1927 at the Strand Theatre, London, then revived in 1937 at the Globe Theatre London. The Constant Wife is a gentle yet thought provoking period comedy It is 1937 and a woman’s place is in the home. Constance Middleton, the wife of a well to do Harley Street consultant is content with her place in life. Content to the point where she is happy to overlook her husbands occasional wanderings. Content, that is, until an old flame comes to visit. Will life ever be the same again for the constant wife? The acting in this production has to be of a high standard, if the audience are to fully appreciate the quality of the script. It is also a real challenge to produce. We hope our audiences enjoyed this production - they gave every appearance of doing so. Directed by Nigel Aves.
